CS 654 - Reliability and Security of Computing Systems (3 units) Emphasis on cryptography (encryption, hash functions and message authentication), hardware based security and trust, and hardware/software fault tolerance.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify, formulate, analyze, and solve complex computing or engineering problems by applying principles of computing, engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. 3. apply engineering and computer science research and theory to advance the art, science, and practice of the discipline.
