NUTR 609 - Epigenetics, Sport and Nutrition (3 units) This course is designed to teach basic science behind nutrition- and exercise-induced changes in physiology as they relate to epigenetic modifications.
Prerequisite(s): BCH 600 or equivalent.
Units of Lecture: 2 Units of Discussion/Recitation: 1 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. critically evaluate scientific literature. 2. demonstrate understanding of basic concepts related to epigenetics, nutri-epigenomics and exercise epigenetics. 3. interpret next generation sequencing data. 4. communicate topics in epigenetics, nutrition, and exercise to colleagues within their respective fields.
