CS 658 - Introduction to Data Mining (3 units) Introduction of the basic concepts, representative algorithms, and state-of-art techniques of data mining. We will examine the present techniques and theories behind them, and explore new techniques for real world data mining applications.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts, with a range of audiences. 2. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. 3. apply engineering and computer science research and theory to advance the art, science, and practice of the discipline.
