JOUR 441 - Health Advertising and Marketing (3 units) Learn how media and advertising influence public health. Work on a communication deliverable that will benefit public health/the local healthcare community.
Prerequisite(s): JOUR 351 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. explain the major components and dominant theories that inform public health advertising. 2. identify ways to best design, implement, and deliver messages to diverse populations. 3. analyze the social, cultural, legal, economic, and ethical considerations in public health campaigns. 4. apply course concepts in the analysis, development, and evaluation of health campaigns. 5. design a product that benefits public health in the local community.
