GEOL 470 - Planetary Geology (3 units) An introduction to the origin and evolution of the solar system and the geological and geophysical processes that shape the solid planets and small bodies.
Prerequisite(s): GEOL 332 ; MATH 182 .
Units of Lecture: 2 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify the geologic and geophysical processes that operate throughout the solar system. 2. describe how our knowledge of Earth processes informs our interpretation of data from other objects in the Solar System. 3. demonstrate competence in oral and written communication.
