EDUC 710 - Multicultural Education for Practicing Teachers - Practicum (3 units) The aim of this class is to enhance practicing teachers’ capacity as culturally responsive professionals who can critically analyze, develop, and implement inclusive curricula and assessments.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate increased awareness and understanding of how race and ethnicity, along with other aspects of diversity, impact students’ identities and lives in schools. 2. create inclusive and equitable instructional, pedagogical, and assessment practices. 3. showcase their capacity for professional cultural competency in interacting with students and families. 4. express reflexivity in identifying strengths and possible areas of improvement in one’s teaching practice. 5. indicate aptitude in seeking resources that can be used to enhance one’s practice.
