MIL 102 - Foundations of Agile and Adaptive Leadership (1 unit) Course introduces Cadets to the personal challenges and competencies that are critical for effective leadership. Cadets learn the personal development of life skills such as critical thinking, time management, goal setting, and communication.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 1 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate an understanding of the Army’s mission and organization. 2. analyze the seven Army Values and Warrior Ethos through research and presentation. 3. demonstrate an understanding of the Army’s approach to leadership and develop a full appreciation of what it means to be an officer and part of the profession of arms. 4. demonstrate an understanding of the communication process by identifying barriers to effective communication while also improving interpersonal skills. 5. apply the Army writing style and PLAIN Language Action and Information Network (PLAIN) techniques and apply the concept of persuasive communication to influence another’s attitudes or behaviors. 6. critically evaluate information from a variety of sources (expert people, popular and specialized periodicals, scholarly journals, and books).
