CHS 280 - Introduction to Biostatistics in Public Health (3 units) This course will introduce elementary methods for collection, presentation, and analysis of public health data and emphasize the application of statistical ideas and methods to a variety of public health research. Core concepts and methods in health data analysis will be addressed. Applications using real data from a variety of public health data sources will be used throughout the course to illustrate the material.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 126 or higher.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify various methods used in health data analysis. 2. perform several methods of health data analysis. 3. interpret the results of health data analysis results.
