THTR 240 - Acting for the Camera (3 units) Introduction to the concept and practice of performing on camera. Performance and discussion of scenes from television, film, and commercials. Discussion of the business of the entertainment industry.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a critical understanding of style, process and the film industry as examined in studio practice. 2. demonstrate the use of the self and the ability to magnify presence through the speaking body on camera. 3. demonstrate informed knowledge of the main filmic elements and how they relate to acting.
