SOC 730 - Political Economy of Development (3 units) Examination of theoretical and methodological issues in development studies. Analysis of problems of development confronting less-developed societies.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify the competing theories in political economy and economic development. 2. demonstrate understanding of the relationship between politics and economics. 3. understand and apply their knowledge of political economy to address important policy initiatives.
