SPAN 743 - Studies in Spanish-American Literature (3 units) Critical study of the poetry, short story, narrative, and/or theatre in Spanish America from the conquest to present day.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. explain the history and development of Spanish-American literature (novel, short story, essay, poetry, and/or drama). 2. identify and define major themes, movements, and authors in Spanish-American literature. 3. write an analytical paper in Spanish in which they apply appropriate interpretative frameworks to a work of Spanish-American literature.
