SPAN 490 - Modern Spanish Literature (3 units) Selected works of narrative, drama, and/or poetry from 19th-, 20th-, and/or 21st-century Spain. Course may be repeated if topics are different. Topics may include modern drama, modern poetry,19th-, 20th-, and/or 21st century novel.

Prerequisite(s): SPAN 350 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. define key authors, movements, and concepts in the narrative, drama, and/or poetry of 19th-, 20th-, and/or 21st-century Spain. 2. articulate, in written materials and in class discussion, various interpretations and analyses of narrative, dramatic, and/or poetic texts. 3. apply the results of their independent research to a term paper, written in Spanish, analyzing a topic relevant to the course.
