MUS 420 - History and Methods of Television Music (3 units) CO13, CO14 Exploration of the impact of the cultural environment on techniques of television music production, focusing on specific genres and eras.
Prerequisite(s): General Education courses (CO1-CO3) completed; at least 3 courses from CO4-CO8 completed; Junior or Senior standing.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate familiarity with the current state of research in media studies. 2. make connections between and apply theories from cultural studies, music, theater, history, and media courses in the context of your study of television music. 3. will be able to demonstrate their writing ability, through weekly papers and large format papers. 4. develop and design appropriate steps and tasks to conduct a research project based on an original research question.
