ANTH 610 - Topics in Gender and Culture (3 units) Examines gender constructions and relations from an anthropological perspective. May be repeated when course content differs. (ANTH 610 and WMST 610 are cross-listed; credit may be earned in one of the two.)

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. explain how gender is constructed in multiple cultural contexts and analyze diverse cultures through a gendered lens. 2. conduct research that draws on a rich body of anthropological scholarship about gender in a variety of global settings. 3. formulate and articulate arguments that synthesize course material. 4. communicate diverse theoretical frameworks and ethnographic examples through writing assignments and class discussion.
