ANTH 709 - Graduate Seminar in Anthropological Linguistics (3 units) Selected reading and discussion of topics in linguistic theory, socio-linguistics and the relationship of language to culture.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing in Anthropology.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. read and critically evaluate relevant literature in the specific topic area of the seminar section taken. 2. discuss the relationship of a specialized area of anthropology in the broader context of the field and to their own research interests. 3. summarize current research and critically review the literature pertaining to a research project.
