ART 201 - Life Drawing I (3 units) This course provides detailed study of the human form emphasizing rendering, mood, expression, and skeletal and muscular structure.
Maximum units a student may earn: 3
Prerequisite(s): ART 100 ; ART 101 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Laboratory/Studio: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate knowledge of the structure and anatomy of the human body. 2. demonstrate observational drawing skills obtained in Drawing I from live models. 3. practice capturing attitudes and movement of a figure through gestural drawings. 4. develop a research practice by examining the work of historical and contemporary figurative artists. 5. appraise intellectual and visual unity through participation in critiques.
