ECON 489 - Economics Internship (2 to 3 units) CO14 Internship with business firms and organizations, providing students with practical experience and applied problems in economics.

Prerequisite(s): Junior or Senior standing; ECON 102 ; ECON 103 ; major or minor in economics; permission of instructor. Recommended Preparation: ECON 302 ; ECON 303 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. work in a professional setting, demonstrate their knowledge of a specific issue posed by the employer, and articulate relevant contextual information that frames the issue. 2. effectively utilize academic journal articles to gain demonstrable insight about a business or policy issue and apply that knowledge as they work to address the issue. 3. apply knowledge and skills from classes in economics and related subjects, to address a business or policy issue.
