HIST 260 - Introduction to Native American History (3 units) CO10 Investigates North American Indian history from the pre-contact era to the present. It puts North America’s Native peoples at the center of American history, focusing particularly on how Natives responded to and shaped contact with European empires and the United States. There was not, of course, a single Native American history: the diverse peoples of North America often had strikingly different experiences. This course embraces this diversity but also seeks to trace common themes.
