ART 401 - Advanced Drawing (3 units) CO14 This advanced course is designed for students to develop independent self-expression. Student will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills developed in previous beginning, intermediate, and advanced drawing courses through projects, critique sessions, and writings.
Maximum units a student may earn: 6
Prerequisite(s): ART 100 ; ART 101 ; ART 102 ; ART 301 or ART 302 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Laboratory/Studio: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate and refine a personal direction in concept and visualization to create a cohesive body of work in addressing social and cultural issues. (CO14) 2. apply self-motivated and self-critical working habits in studio work and research practices. 3. synthesize and communicate technical, theoretical, and conceptual aspects of making art through studio work and critique sessions. 4. apply professional practice methods, through the development of artist statements, work documentation, and presentation strategies to relate to the current art world. (CO14) 5. demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate their research findings in written and oral form. (CO14)
