SOC 416 - Quantitative Research (3 units) CO14 Major techniques and problems encountered in quantitative research in the social sciences.
Prerequisite(s): SOC 101 ; SOC 240 OR PSY 240 ; Junior or Senior standing.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. critically evaluate quantitative social-scientific research studies so as to judge the relative validity, or lack thereof, of quantitative social-scientific empirical results. 2. articulate an original research question that can be translated into a quantitative researchable design. 3. create a complete quantitative research project including an introduction, literature review, formal statement of hypothesis, research design, results, implications, and directions for future research.
