ART 141 - Introduction to Digital Photography

Introduction to photographic techniques as a medium for creative expression. Topics include camera operation, composition, editing and sequencing with Adobe software, output, and visual literacy through historical and contemporary practices.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. apply current technologies and tools in photography production, including camera operation, digital darkroom application, archival printing technologies, and presentation. 
2. describe theoretical, critical, and practical concepts to create and analyze photography projects.
3. articulate verbally and in writing, the relationships between historical context and contemporary works of art through photography and other creative practices.
4. use critical analysis to analyze and interpret photography in the context of culture, society, and individual identity.
