Principles of child behavior at home and school are studied with actual teachers, children and families involved. Application for counselors and teachers is emphasized.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the M.A. in Counseling program.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. describe multicultural counseling principles, including cultural self-awareness and culturally responsive counseling practices.
2. explain lifespan development and developmental theory and its relevance to counseling practice.
3. apply school counseling knowledge and skills in educational settings, including program implementation and student support.
