MED 662PM - Electives International Med Experience (2-4 units) This elective offers fourth-year medical students a supervised clinical and cultural experience in an international healthcare setting. Students will engage in patient care, observe healthcare delivery in a global context, and explore challenges in cross-cultural medicine.

Grading Basis: Medical School Grades Units of Independent Study: 2 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. apply clinical skills and professional behaviors appropriate for working in low-resourced healthcare settings. 2. analyze and explain the processes involved in a multidisciplinary quality improvement initiative aimed at improving healthcare outcomes regionally and nationally. 3. actively engage in clinical and/or research activities within the selected medical specialty, contributing to quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the local hospital or program, while demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and respect for local healthcare practices.
