NURS 466 - Nursing Research (3 units) Analyze and utilize research in the context of evidence-based nursing practice. Includes quality improvement processes and translation of research into evidence-based practice.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. explain how evidence-based practice is used to inform and improve client care. 2. differentiate research methodologies commonly used in healthcare to guide safe practice. 3. evaluate the levels of evidence within healthcare research to determine applicability in care settings. 4. describe the elements of the research process and models of applying evidence to clinical practice. 5. discuss legal and ethical issues involved in conducting research to protect clients. 6. appraise the literature and use evidence to make recommendations to address quality issues.
