REM 490 - Rangeland Planning

REM 490/690 teaches students how to plan a project based on analysis of observations and data collected from a field site. Planning involves communication skills to discuss and negotiate with stakeholders, set objectives, determine actions with supporting rationale, scheduling & budgeting, monitoring, and contingency planning.

Prerequisite(s): REM 340  and REM 494  and Jr./Sr. Standing or Graduate Student Standing

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. analyze field data to develop and present a restoration plan that reflects ecological, economic, policy, and social considerations of diverse stakeholders, as well as the adaptive management processes. 
2. create written and visual materials to communicate proposal to diverse audiences.
3. facilitate and negotiate consensus-building among stakeholders of varying and conflicting interests using knowledge of group dynamics.
