FREN 461 - Special Topics in Contemporary French & Francophone Studies (3 units) Special topics in contemporary French and Francophone studies. The period of focus for this course is the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

Prerequisite(s): FREN 305 and FREN 341
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify and define major themes, movements, and authors in contemporary French and Francophone literature. 2. interpret and analyze primary source material with attention to genre, content, and literary and/or historical value. 3. articulate, in class discussions and in writing, interpretations and analyses of primary and secondary sources.
