HIST 723 - Research Seminar in 20th Century History (3 units) This seminar is focused on the development and practice of 20th century history in range of places and approaches. Rather than a structured chronological or geographic survey, the course is instead focuses on research and writing, designed to explore the questions and practices of the field. Students will produce an original article-length research paper.

Grading Basis: Graded Units of Discussion/Recitation: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. write an original research paper using primary sources. 2. identify the main skills of historians in individual and group discussions. 3. analyze examples of major research approaches in the field.
