NRES 315 - Sustainable Outdoor Recreation, Marketing, & Profit Centers (3 units) An introduction to the field of outdoor recreation management. This course includes the
historical development of outdoor recreation, types of services provided and resources
utilized, the sustainable management of public areas including economic, cultural, and
political considerations, and professional/career opportunities in the field of outdoor
recreation.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. understand management principles guiding outdoor recreation operations. 2. develop effective marketing strategies for outdoor recreation activities. 3. identify and analyze profit centers associated with outdoor recreation activities. 4. use financial management concepts to evaluate proposals associated with outdoor recreation.
