REM 302 - Literature of Western Land Stewardship

Application of critical thinking skills to find, determine credibility, synthesize, and apply literature relevant to the ecology and stewardship of rangeland ecosystems to address management challenges and opportunities scenarios.

A mix of in-person and online learning materials and activities. Students will be provided with a full-semester schedule detailing which days are in-person and which days are for independent online learning.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. explain the foundational tenets of critical thinking.
2. apply critical thinkings skills to determine the degree of credibility for any given literature or information source.
3. apply critical thinkings skills to synthesize and apply literature to answer a question, explain the complexity of a land stewardship issue, write a technical brief, guide management planning, or write a literature review.
4. suggest key historical and current literature for a variety of rangeland land stewardship issues and topics.
