Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. produce a historiographical essay analyzing major debates and methodological approaches in pre‑1500 world history.
2. identify and explain major themes across a range of global contexts.
3. critically analyze major secondary works and evaluate their contributions to historiography.
4. assess how historiographical approaches have changed over time.
