Students who complete the bachelor of arts in criminal justice degree participate in a professional program. They are educated for justice-related positions in both public and private sectors, graduate study and law school.

At least 15 credits of required criminal justice courses must be completed at the University of Nevada, Reno. A minimum grade-point average of 2.5 is required for admission to and transfer into the criminal justice department. In addition, criminal justice students must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA on all university course work in order to continue in and graduate from the criminal justice department. No more than 15 credits of online criminal justice classes taken through UNR’s Independent Learning may count toward a student’s Criminal Justice major.
