Students must be a graduate special or enrolled in a UNR graduate program and must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Please see Philosophy website at www.unr.edu/philosophy for application details.
A total of 12 graduate units are required. Students must take one or two three-unit courses in each of two groups.

B. Historical Group
Select one or two three-credit 600-level courses treating one or more figures in the history of philosophy focusing on ethics, law, or politics, e.g., PHIL 610 - Plato when focused on the Republic, PHIL 615 - Kant when focused on the Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, etc. Students may, with approval, substitute a 600 or 700-level independent study course, a selected topics course, or another course when the course treats one or more historical figures treating a topic in ethics, law, and politics. |
