Chemistry, M.S. Plan A (Thesis)

Candidates for the master of science degree with a major in chemistry must satisfy the general requirements of the Graduate School.

I. Plan A

A. Plan A includes a research thesis. The minimum credit requirements are:

Formal core and advanced chemistry courses (15 units) *
Electives (5 units)
Graduate Seminar (4 units):
CHEM 789 - Graduate Seminar I (1 unit)
CHEM 790 - Graduate Seminar II (1 unit)
Thesis (6 units)
CHEM 797 - Thesis (1 to 6 units)

Total Credits (30 units)

* 600- or 700-level formal classroom or laboratory courses, as specified by the Chemistry Department’s Graduate Study Guidelines and approved by the student’s advisory committee.
