Candidates for the master of science degree with a major in chemistry must satisfy the general requirements of the Graduate School.

I. Plan B

A. Plan B does not include a research thesis. The minimum requirements are:

Formal core and advanced chemistry courses (21 units) *
Electives (6 units)
Graduate Seminar (4 units)
CHEM 789 - Graduate Seminar I (1 unit)
CHEM 790 - Graduate Seminar II (1 unit)
CHEM 791 - Professional Paper (1 unit)

Total Credits (32 units)

* 600- or 700-level formal classroom or laboratory courses, as specified by the Chemistry Department’s Graduate Study Guidelines and approved by the student’s advisory committee.
