Students may not satisfy the Department of World Languages and Literatures requirement via their native language nor choose their native country for the regional focus. Select one writing course: (3 units)

III. Major Requirement (9 units)

Select four courses from the following:

The student is encouraged to develop a functional focus on Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, or Marketing. The most appropriate courses to be taken to meet the major course requirements depend on that focus. One course must satisfy the Core Curriculum Diversity requirement (units counted in Core Curriculum Diversity section above). Check http://www.business.unr.edu/ib/#IB and/or consult faculty advisor.

IV. Minor Requirements (0 units)

No minor is required. However, students are encouraged to fulfill any extra coursework required for a minor in their chosen language.

V. Electives (business or non-business) (17-28 units minimum)

All electives require approval by a major advisor. At least one course must be a General Capstone.

These courses should be selected to allow the student to create a functional as well as a regional focus. Check http://www.business.unr.edu/ib/#IB and/or consult faculty advisor.

Approved upper division business electives/Functional Concentration (9 units)

The appropriate business electives to be taken depend on the functional focus (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, or Marketing) that the student has chosen.

Approved non-business electives/Regional Track (8-9 units)

The appropriate non-business electives to be taken depend on the regional focus (Europe, Asia, Latin America, North America) that the student has chosen.  These electives must be approved to fulfill an area especially consistent with the student’s chosen foreign language. Approved courses include study in the culture, history and politics. Study abroad is strongly encouraged and course taken abroad may satisfy some electives in regional track with faculty advisor approval. One course must be a Core Curriculum Capstone course (units counted in Core Curriculum Capstone section above).

Additional electives as necessary to reach 120 overall credits (0-10)

Please consult the International Business major advising website at http://www.business.unr.edu/ib/#IB for more information regarding the specific courses required for each concentration/track.

You should meet with a faculty advisor each semester to discuss your coursework and progress toward graduation. In addition, all exceptions to the courses prescribed for the tracks above must be approved by an International Business faculty advisor.
