In addition to fulfilling the Core Curriculum Natural Science requirement, students majoring in another field may minor in Biology by completing:

A. Core Courses:

BIOL 190 - Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology (3 units)
BIOL 191 - Introduction Organismal Biology (3 units)
BIOL 192 - Principles of Biological Investigation (2 units)
BIOL 300 - Principles of Genetics (3 units)
BIOL 415 - Evolution (4 units)

B. Select one from the following two choices: (5 units)

BIOL 314 - Ecology and Population Biology (3 units) AND
BIOL 394 - Laboratory in Ecology and Population Biology (2 units)
OR
BIOL 315 - Cell Biology (3 units) AND
BIOL 395 - Laboratory in Genetics and Cell Biology (2 units)

Total Units (20 units)

NOTE: Because of prerequisites associated with these courses, students taking a minor in Biology will also need to complete MATH 128 and CHEM 121A / CHEM 121L , CHEM 122A / CHEM 122L , and an Organic Chemistry course: either CHEM 220A , or CHEM 241 and CHEM 242 , or CHEM 341 and CHEM 342 .
