Vulnerability to cyber attacks has increased dramatically as usage of and reliance on technology expands. Cyber attacks can take multiple forms, ranging from corporate security breaches and social media fraud to malware and social engineering. Cybersecurity professionals are needed who can identify and mitigate the growing threats. The objective of the minor in cybersecurity is to provide students with both the technical skills and the theoretical knowledge to address evolving cybersecurity challenges. Through core courses and electives, students who complete the minor will learn to identify cybersecurity risks and build expertise in solutions to a broad range of cyber vulnerabilities.
The minor in cybersecurity is open to all students at the university. Completion of minor requirements may require completion of additional courses as prerequisites.
