II. Description
Religious Studies is an 18 unit minor offered through the Gender, Race and Identity program in the College of Liberal Arts. Students in the minor will employ a variety of disciplinary perspectives to understand religious thought and practice within diverse historical, intellectual and socio-cultural contexts. Students also will grapple with fundamental questions concerning the nature of religion and its continuing relevance to contemporary life in a rapidly globalizing world.
Students are required to take RST 101 , PHIL 210 , and six additional credits of Group A electives for a total of twelve. The remaining courses may be from either Group A or Group B (Group A electives have the analysis of religion as a primary course goal, while Group B electives focus on another subject area with religion as a significant course component).
Courses not listed below may be included subject to approval by the Religious Studies board.
