Chemistry is the science of the structure, reactions, energetics, and control of matter. Chemistry majors complete courses providing a solid background in the physical sciences and mathematics, together with a sequence of courses in general, organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry. Chemistry minor options are offered with analytical-organic or biophysical-organic emphases. III. Program Requirements (21 units)

Deviations from these sequences are possible with approval of a chemistry advisor. Minimum requirements are a total of 20 chemistry units, including nine upper-division units and a two-unit organic chemistry laboratory course. |
