II. Brief Description
Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering disciplines. It is complementary to many disciplines in the areas of science and engineering.
Hybrid and self-driving cars, and human prosthetics are just a couple of interdisciplinary devices that use mechanical engineering.
III. Program Requirements (18 units)
At least 18 units of formal courses must be completed. At most, 9 of the 18 units can be used toward the student’s major.
A. Required Courses (6 units)
B. Minor Electives (6-12 units)
C. Upper-Division ME (0-6 units)
Note: In addition to the general university requirements of at least a “C” (2.0) GPA for graduation, all Mechanical Engineering minors must earn at least a “C” in those minor courses designated with an asterisk (*) and a “C” average for all courses used to satisfy the minor requirements.
