Environmental engineers use engineering and scientific principles to protect and preserve human health and the environment and to improve our quality of life. At the University of Nevada, our environmental engineering program focuses primarily on water quality and water availability, such as developing new methods to purify drinking water. Environmental engineers also develop systems for the transport and removal of pollutants and hazardous, industrial or municipal waste.

I. Program Requirements (18 units)
At least 18 units of formal courses must be completed. No more than 9 units may also be used toward any other degree requirements.
In addition to the general university requirements of at least a “C” (2.0) GPA for graduation, all Environmental Engineering minors must earn at least a “C” in those minor courses designated with an asterisk (*) and a “C” average for all courses used to satisfy the minor requirements.
