Addiction Treatment and Prevention Services, Graduate Certificate

The 18-unit graduate certificate in addiction treatment services is offered through the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT). The graduate certificate is available to people who already have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and wish to add addiction-specific information to their body of knowledge. It is particularly useful to those wishing to be licensed by the state of Nevada as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
NOTE: Students who are enrolled in this program solely are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.

Admission Requirements
The 18-unit certificate program serves post-baccalaurete students who:
- have counseling experience,
- are already practicing in the field of Addiction Treatment and Prevention Services, or
- who wish to become duly licensed.
A formal application is required and may be obtained through CASAT. For additional information on this program, visit: casat.org and select “Academic Programs”.
GRE scores are not required for this certificate. With advisor permission, up to two equivalent courses from a student’s masters degree may apply to certificate requirements.

Each student is advised on the six courses that best meet their goals after considering any addiction coursework completed at the undergraduate level and work experience in the addiction field.
