Return to: Programs in the College of Liberal Arts
Religious Studies is an 18 unit minor offered through the Gender, Race and Identity program in the College of Liberal Arts. Students in the minor will employ a variety of disciplinary perspectives to understand religious thought and practice within diverse historical, intellectual and socio-cultural contexts. Students also will grapple with fundamental questions concerning the nature of religion and its continuing relevance to contemporary life in a rapidly globalizing world.
Students are required to take RST 101, PHIL 210, and six additional credits of Group A electives for a total of twelve. The remaining courses may be from either Group A or Group B (Group A electives have the analysis of religion as a primary course goal, while Group B electives focus on another subject area with religion as a significant course component).
Courses not listed below may be included subject to approval by the Religious Studies board.
