Students who start their career at Saddleback College may complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing by following the course of study described below.

A candidate for a bachelor’s degree must earn a minimum of 122 units, at least 40 of which must be in courses numbered 300 or above. A minimum of 30 units (300-level or above) must be taken in residence at the University of Nevada, Reno.

To ensure a successful transition to the University and graduation in four years, students must work with academic advisors at UNR and SBC throughout their career.

Admission Requirements

During completion of the final semester of prerequisites, pre-nursing majors may apply for entrance to the nursing major by completing the formal application found on the website for OSN: www.unr.edu/nursing. Admission to the nursing major is based on the GPA for selected courses included on the application to the major. The GPA for those selected courses on the application must be a minimum of 3.0 and include no grade less than ‘C’ in any course.

CH 203 substitution: HIST 16 or PS 1 and one of the following must be completed at UNR for CH 203 credit: HIST 102, 217, PSC 100 or PSC 208

Note: After matriculation to the University of Nevada, Reno, students may not take substitute courses for Core Humanities. Students must satisfy any remaining CH requirements by completing the required CH courses.
