The Information Systems major is designed for those students interested in business-oriented, computer technology-based information systems. Students will learn both conceptual knowledge and skills to prepare for a future as an information systems professional. The major integrates general business and management knowledge with expertise in computer technology (including programming, database, web, and networking) to help students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain employment in a competitive job market, start a business, or pursue further education in graduate and professional degree programs.
Note: Students may not earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Information Systems AND a second major in and Information Systems either concurrently or subsequently. Students may earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with dual majors in Accounting and Information Systems. Students also have the option to major in Information Systems and complete a minor in .

Admission Requirements
All students who are interested in graduating with a B.S. in Business degree with a major in Information Systems start by being declared as “pre-majors.” Pre-majors must complete Core Writing, Core Mathematics, the Pre-Business Core, and a total of 60 units before meeting with an advisor to declare a major in Information Systems. Students must declare their major before they may take any courses in the Upper-Division Business Core.
