I. Program Requirements (18 units)

Students majoring in another field may minor in Sociology by completing the following:

Minor GPA| 2. 0
Minor Upper-Division Units| 9
Minor Residency Requirement| 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
Unit Limits: Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.

A. Required Courses (6 units)

SOC 101 - Principles of Sociology (3 units) CO6
SOC 207 - Introduction to Sociological Theory (3 units)

B. Sociology Electives (12 units)

Sociology minors must also take four additional three-unit courses as electives. At least 9 of these 12 elective units must be upper-division.

Any APST or SOC course numbered 100-499 not counted towards the minor requirements above may be used as an elective. Refer to the course descriptions chapter of the catalog for a list of these courses.
