The biology minor requires successful completion of several biology courses, some of which have prerequisites. The department offers two areas of emphasis within the minor: cell and molecular biology and ecology and evolutionary biology.

In addition to fulfilling the Core Curriculum Natural Science requirement, students majoring in another field may minor in Biology by completing:
