Nevada Global Learning Academic English

The highest level of the IEP, called Academic English, increasingly focuses on building students’ proficiency in using English in university classroom settings. For example, students learn to express and support their ideas by integrating ideas for different sources, stretching beyond simple expressions to use language with more creativity and spontaneity. They also learn to read and listen actively and critically, and practice conversations so they can participate in class discussions with more confidence. Students in Academic English are also oriented to US university study and prepared for entry into the Accelerator pathways program or direct entry into the university.  In their classes, students use print materials, web-based tools, smartphone apps and other interactive learning tools.
