BS/MBA Accelerated Program, College of Science


The College of Science, in partnership with the College of Business, offers a five-year program to earn both the Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees.

Program Learning Outcomes


Students will be able to: 

  • evaluate and apply advanced theories, principles, and applications of their specific scientific or mathematical discipline to solve complex, real-world problems.
  • apply discipline-specific analytical methodologies (e.g., scientific experimentation, mathematical modeling, technical design) using advanced data science and AI tools to develop evidence-based solutions for complex industry challenges.
  • integrate ethical frameworks, safety protocols, and principles of sustainability into all technical and managerial decisions, recognizing their societal and environmental consequences.
  • evaluate business opportunities and make innovative and strategic decisions through robust business plans based on predictive data analytics and comprehensive risk assessment.

Admission Requirements


Applicant Criteria


Applicants to the program must:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program in the College of Science
  • Must have completed at least 75 credits toward the bachelor’s degree
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.2 cumulative

Application materials must be filed at The Graduate School and the MBA office. Applicants must meet all current admissions requirements, except the required professional work experience, which will be waived.

This is a competitive entry program. Up to 15 students from the College of Science will be selected each year.

Admissions Deadline


Apply to Graduate School and MBA program, March 15 for the following fall and October 15 for the following spring.

Program Requirements


Seven undergraduate courses in the College of Business are used to waive 21 credits of the MBA graduate core curriculum. Students will need to check with academic advisors in the College of Science Advising Center (see above for advisor contact information) for access to the upper-division business classes.

The undergraduate curriculum (equivalent to the core for the MBA program and in addition to required courses for the science degree) is comprised of the following courses:

Program Details


Students interested in the BS/MBA program must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP). SAP includes receiving a grade of at least a B in each business course and maintaining an overall GPA of at least 3.2. If less than a B is earned, students must take the corresponding 700-level BADM course.

Undergraduate science students in the BS/MBA program may take up to 12 credits of graduate-level courses (600 and 700 level) towards the MBA degree if the undergraduate business curriculum is complete. The student and academic advisor must submit the request form, available on The Graduate School website, to take graduate credits as an undergraduate.
