I. Program Requirements (21 units)

This minor is not open to students pursuing a studio art major (Art, B.A. or Art, B.F.A.). Students majoring in another field may minor in Digital Media online by completing the following:

• Minor GPA | 2.0
• Minor Upper-Division Units | 9
• Minor Residency Requirement | 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
• Unit Limits: Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.

A. Foundations Course (3 units)

ART 103C  is recommended.

Note: Other foundations options below may not be regularly offered in online format.

• ART 103C - Visual Foundations: Surface to Screen (3 units) CO7, CO9

• OR one of the following:

• ART 103A - Visual Foundations: Surface (3 units) CO7
• ART 103B - Visual Foundations: Space (3 units) CO7, CO9
• ART 141 - Introduction to Digital Photography (3 units) CO7

B. Digital Media Required Courses (9 units)

• ART 245 - Digital Media I (3 units) CO7
• ART 345 - Sound and Image (3 units)
• ART 350 - Advanced Digital Media (3 units) CO14

C. Digital Media Electives (9 units)

Complete three additional upper-division courses from the following: 

• ART 360 - Interactive Art & Creative Code (3 units)
• ART 381 - Critical Play: Games and Art (3 units)
• ART 441 - Seminar On Art and Technology (3 units)
• ART 451 - Problems in Digital Media (1 to 3 units) (3 units required)
